Get ready for sure, bc here comes the talent. The opening number was crazy, white and silver. Some of the people def shined more than others. lacey sure does have a voice. She reminds me of the girl from HSM, which is not a bad thing. And the dancing is good, but not great. You can tell its still simple. I really hope they dont try to cram too much into each episode and consequently the moves are wicked simple. I also hope we get sneak peaks at the practices alla So You Think You Can Dance?
The boys started the war with a group performance in their camo, and boy does Zach look like a mini JT!! And Philip is ripped! Yummy. And boy can Chris sing!! The moves again were simple, but tight as hell. And they all seemed to be in sync with each other (and sing better than 'n sync ever did). It sure is wicked hard to harmonize and pop and lock. Chris wins the singing, and Zack wins the dancing.
The girls strutted their bad selves to start the night. Most of the girls killed their solos, but the dancing was repetative and kind of borring. You could have done better choreographers. Lacey and Elisabeth tie for the singing, and Kelsey wins the dancing for sheezy.
Rundown:
Larger than Life:
- Maxx, 18: Farmer who dances.
- Qis, 26: Footballer who dances and sings.
- Chris, 18: family man who sings.
- Bradley, 24: from family of performers.
Hard to Handle:
- Zack, 25: future dentist who loves to perform.
- Tony, 23: dancer from the heart.
- Phillip, 24: the athletic musician.
So they have it a bit tougher, rock songs are harder to harmonize. The dancing wasnt quite as good, but again how do you choreograph a rock song? Zack def wins the singing, but all were good. I cant decide who wins the dancing. And as the judges said Tony def does have flava.
The Beat Goes On:
- Kelsey, 20: Dancer who somehow can sing.
- Corina, 22: performer from birth.
- Alysa, 20: dancer with some flava.
- Charity, 20: dancer who has music in the family.
Very fosse/ Austin Power's dancing. Kind of hard to do. THey def started out better than they finished. Work on that stamina girls. Kelsey wins the dancing, and Alysa wins the singing.
Lady Marmalade:
- Marielle, 19: dying grandmother.
- Lacey, 22: Gospel singer with an edge.
- Elisabeth, 20: adopted singer.
Talk about bringing out the voices for the powerhouse ballad!!! All 3 girls are singers and not dancers, and you can def tell. The dancing was pretty much non -existant, but they were tight and in sync with each other. The singing was incredible, they all win the singing and no one wins the dancing.
PICKING THE TEAMS, school yard style:
For the boys, Carrie Anne gets 1st pick. She goes for the heart of ... Bradley. The rest of her boys rounds out with Chris and Qis. Bruno goes for Zach first. The rest of his boys rounds out with Tony and Phillip.
For the girls, Bruno gets 1st pick. He goes for the diva power of ... Lacey. The rest of his team is Kelsey and Charity. Carrie Anne goes for the soul of ... Marielle. The rest of her team includes Elisabeth and Alysa.
Scoreboard: 1 point to Bruno for comparing his team to a football team, -1 point to the judging style for not really judging, -1 point to the choreographers for being so simple, and 1 point to Drew Lachey for finding work after 98 degrees.
So I called most of the picks. Im interested in seeing how the teams end up working together. And how are the numbers going to be wittled down to one? Mmmm.... this could be an interesting show. Let's get the party started.
